At this time there is only one Kenwood that will work with the Eco-route HD cable and that is the 9980HD.

I think this is crazy.
Why did they take this away????
Anyone seen and update the 9990hd to ecoRoute HD
This is one of the main features I wanted it for looking at the 9990hd, I thought it would be the same as 9980.

I talked to Kenwood on Thursday and they said it would work with the 9990HD and of course the 9980HD...

Garmin has stated that the ecoRoute cable will not work with the 9990HD

So why wouldnt people just snag up the 9980HD that DOES work with ecoroute hd cable? Is there something the hd9990hd has that the 9980hd does not?

The Kenwood 9990 is faster, does have better AV features and controls the whole unit is smoother then the 9980 but I really wanted the Garmin Mechanic Echo Route HD, I did buy it and tried to Sync it because some tech at crutchfield told me it would work and it does not.
I will be returning it to crutchfield shortly after I speak to the tech again who called me personally to tell me it would work. If he feels that it still should work tell me how or give me my refund, I will let you guys know how it turns out
