You mention that there are 2 black and 2 red wires but there is only 1 black and 1 red. Can this cable attach straight to a motorcycle cable? or it should to another connection that has a fuse? In addition do you know what type of leads I should attach at the end of the cable? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure where you are seeing that we mention there are 2 black and 2 red wires? Looking at our overview page we do not display any information regarding the wires. The photo does show 1 black and 1 red wire. Yes, you can use this to hardwire your unit and retain traffic information.

We do not have any recommendation for power leads, I apologize. If you are in doubt of how to install it, I'd recommend you visit a local car/motocycle audio shop to get it installed.

that was the answer by Tom to another guy who was trying to do the same but he corrected it.
I will still like to know as I can not find any info on the Garmin web site if this cable can attach straight to the battery or it needs a switched fused connection. Any help will be greately appreciated and thanks for your promp response on the earlier question.

Thanks for the info! You can hook this straight to your battery - no problem. The box in the cable includes the fuse and circuits necessary so you don't damage your GPS.

Yes this will most likely draw a little power when not in use. to prevent that you can put a switch inline
