Hey. I just bought a Garmin FMI 45 cable (p/n 010-11796-00)and wanted it installed in my Volvo S 60, but there is no diagram included to tell how to install it. My mechanic doesn't know how to install it, to. Can you help?

The wiring list is on the bag for the cable. If you are just hooking up the power and not the fleet management system all you need to is attach the red wire to 12V (car battery) and the black wire to ground. If you need to know the serial wiring for fleet management services please let us know.

My mechanic hooked up the power cable, but it's the traffic informations, I miss. It says, that the TMC reciever is not connected. So I think the fleet manager must be powered. So yes please give me informations about the serial wiring for that.

The serial connections will go to a modem for sending your position back to dispatch and should not effect the traffic. There is no power on the serial lines. You may have to enable the traffic receiver through Garmin.

Brown (serial Ground)
White (Rx)
Yellow (tx)

I will suggest that you phone for tech support on this item if you can not get the traffic receiver to work. 1-800-800-1020.

Hey Jordan
Now I've spoked with Garmin, and they tell me that this cable doesn't work for traffic informations without the fleet management system, which I have to subscribe and pay for by one of their partners. Great! I bought the cable by Garmin because they recommended it to me in the phone...
But thanks for trying to help me.
