Will this cable work to allow communication with my old Rino120 to a newer Windows7 laptop? I have a serial to USB adapter that is not recognized by the newer Windows7, but did work on my Windows XP computer.

It would work but you would need to rewire it to make it work. It is best to get one that already has a serial connector on it so you can just plug the two together. We no longer sell them but you can get them from some computer shops. Here is an example of one.
