Can I use an adapter from nuvi to power my Garmin Dakota? Do vehicle adapters for nuvi and Oregon/Dakota deliver the same output voltage?

Hello Victor,

The Garmin Mini USB 12V Cigarette Lighter Adapter for Nuvi is the wrong cable for your unit. You can find compatible accessories on the Accessory tab on the Dakota page. Here is a link.

For sure I will order the right cable. Your service is great!

But that is not what I asked. Is the output voltage the same in these cables, i.e., standard USB, i.e., 5 V +_0.something or is it 3 - 4 V in cables for the handhelds?
Just curious.

Hello Victor,

The Nuvi and Oregon/Dakota are very similar. They use all the same accessories for power and data. We do not know the specifics.
