The GoPro HD HERO LCD Backpac made for the Hero (1) and Hero 2 are compatible with the new GoPro Hero 3. I highly suggest getting the touch screen made for the new Hero3. It is awesome and makes the camera quicker and easier to use.

** The battery pack from the older models is compatible with the hero 3 also.
