Confirmation on availability of this part, and also a couple reviews mentioned that it does not tighten down against the case enough. Has the fitment in this regard been verified?

We have never been made aware of any problems with the design. I just tested it and it works fine. Please note that you do not use the thumb screw that comes with the GOPro original mounts. The RAP-B-202-GOP1 includes a new screw and nylon lock nut.
