How to fit the X-Grip to the cup holder?

How would I somehow fit an x-grip cellphone holder, either with the 1inch ball or with the snap link, onto the flexible arm???

The X-Grip to use would be the RAM Mount RAM-HOL-UN7U Universal X-Grip Mobile Phones Cradle with Snap-Socket, the one without the "B" ball.

The X-Grip can be attached to the RAM Mount RAP-SB-238U Plastic Diamond Base with Snap Link Ball which would then connect to the cup holder.
