Can you unscrew the gooseneck from the Ram-A-CAN II?
Will it hold suction for the RAP-B-224-2U Cone Locking Suction Mount Base with Integrated 1 inch Ball once the gooseneck is removed?

The Goose neck can be removed but you may not be able to get it back in the same way it came out. You can buy the base without the goose neck attached.

A suction cup may hold to the top of the RAM-A-Can but there is etching on the top that will make it difficult. Suction cups work best on the window or a similar smooth service. I suggest screwing a RAM ball to the top of the RAMACAN if you want a ball on the top of it.

Thanks! That was my concern, the aluminum rod might not go back in as easy. I noticed the gooseneck version was less expensive so I hoped to save a few bucks if it was a multi-purpose item. I went with the regular RAMACAN + DiamondBall.
