Concerned About Weight, DeWat, DC Area
I would like to use this mount with a Uniden HomePatrol scanner. My concern is that because the HomePatrol is touch screen controlled and a little weighty (just under 1 pound NOT including the 4 AA batteries), and my cup holders are a large diameter, that this mount may be a little tipsy and not very secure in the cup holder. I'm not worried about the mount falling out of the cup holders due to their depth, but I am concerned that there may be a lot of wiggling and rotating. Is there a way to add weight to the inside of the mount? If so, ideas on doing so would also be greatly appreciated.

The cup holder mount is already weighted and you will not be able to add more weight easily. One pound is not a lot of weight for this system. The biggest issue will be the size of your cup holder. You want this to fit snug to prevent it from tipping. I don't think adding weight will help. What is the Inner diameter of the cup holder and its depth?

The cup holder is approx. 3.25" at the top, approx. 2.75 in" at the bottom, and approx 3" deep. Give or take 1/8" on all measurments. (2nd generation 2008+ Toyota Highlander).

The cup holder will fit nice and tight and you should not have a problem with it being top heavy
