I was wondering if I can continue a ride after I have stopped for a while instead of starting from the beginning . I ride to work and when I ride back home I want the total distance and time and not marked as 2 separate rides ?

Yes, you can pause/stop the recording until you go home later that day. There will be a gap in the data of X hours depending how long you stay at work.
