Editing Old Scorecard?, Carol Young, Austin, MN
Is there a way to edit the score card on the computer once it is downloaded, and can you delete a score. I uploaded a score and it was wrong, so I re-entered the score on the digital score card, and loaded that. Now I would like to get rid of the incorrect score card. On another score I missed putting down the score for a hole. Is there a way to correct that?

Hello Carol, Unfortunately once a scorecard has been downloaded there is no way you can go back and edit it. So its probably best to check before uploading to assure you have the correct data. Hope this helps!

Hi Carol, There is definitely a way to correct a missing score for a hole, but it's not very straightforward. Your scorecard is an .xml file. If you right-click on it and Open it with Wordpad, you can change the score. Once opened, after some coding, the name of the course, the date, and 'holes="18"', you'll see some pairs of tags that look like '3' Those that occur first are the par value for each hole along with the front nine total par, the back nine total par and the total 18 hole par. After you see '' the scr>5 pairs are your individual scores in order for the first nine, then a total score for your front nine, your individual scores for your back nine and then a total score for your back nine, followed by your total score for 18 holes. So, you will need to count these to find the hole you missed and then fill in the missing score. Since the score card shows the already added score values for each nine and the total, you will also need to change those. Once you do, save the file and you should see your corrected scorecard.

Carol, My first reply did not capture the special coding I added to my original reply so I'm going to spell it out here and hopefully, it'll make sense. Your scorecard is an .xml file. If you right-click on it and Open it with Wordpad, you can change the score. Once opened, after some coding, the name of the course, the date, and 'holes="18"', you'll see some pairs of tags that consist of a left angle bracket followed by 'scr' followed by a right angle bracket followed by a number followed by a left angle bracket followed by 'scr' followed by a slash followed by 'scr' followed by a right angle bracket. The first 21 are the par value for each hole along with the front nine total par, the back nine total par and the total 18 hole par. Once you see 'golfer name=' and then a bunch of stuff up to the next right angle bracket, you will see the same types of tag pairs again. This time these pairs hold your individual scores in order for the first nine, total front nine, individual scores for your back nine and then total back nine, and total 18-hole score. Continued above...
