DeLorme GPS Cradle + Extension Cradle Plate w/ Ball RMR-164F, Brian, Madison, WI
I'm wondering if I can mount a DeLorme Earthmate GPS Cradle on a Extension Cradle Plate w/ Ball (RMR-B-164-F) to effectively move the pivot point (the ball) from behind the GPS unit (as it would be if I mounted a typical diamond plate ball to the back of the cradle) to the top of the unit. I'd then connect to a Long Arm B-Socket (RAM-B-201U-C), then to a Locking Suction Cup w/ 1" Ball Metal Plate. Will the top of the Delorme cradle clear the bend in the plate and allow the Long Arm B-Socket to grab and fully pivot on the ball on the extension cradle plate? I'd like to attach the suction unit to the windshield, then drop the unit to below dash level with a Long Arm B-Socket, and keep the whole assembly as close to the dash as possible...

The RAM cradle for the Earthmate (RAMHOLDE1) will fit on the RAM Extension Cradle Plate (RAMRB164F). With the cradle attached the extension plate will be able to fully pivot the unit as needed. Below I have listed all of the parts you require for your mount. Please click on the links below for more information.
