i have just gotten a nuvi 500 series and want to mount it on a bmw 1150gs, will the motorcycle mount kit be a bolt-on unit or will fabrication be needed? mounting brackets that came w the unit is for car and bicycle mounting.what kit do i need to do this?

Hello Ricardo,
The RAM-B-174-GA32U is the correct mount for the Garmin Nuvi 500 series GPS unit. There will be no other modifications to the mount needed. You will also want to get the bare wire cable to wire to your bike battery. Here is the link

Hi Ricardo,

The Ram-B-174 Kit (Ram-B-309-7 Base) should work on any handle bar or similar round tube/pipe support frame of varying dimensions on your bike.

I recommend you watch the installation video linked below to give you an idea of the variety of options you have to mount your gps unit, there is also a video of how to assemble the complete kit including mounting cradle on the right hand side after watching the first installation video.
