This looks like an awesome piece of kit. Is there a sensible way to mount it to the handlebars of a mountain bike, and if so what sort of kit would it require?

Thinking of upgrading a 60CSx for either a 62st or this and need to be able to navigate on the bike or it's no use to me. I also want to be able to mount it to a road bike at some point in the future, and move it between two or maybe more bikes easily.

Hello John,

Here is a link to an option. Please note we have many other handle bar options available via the RAM mount product line. please feel free to search our site or give us a call for assistance.

Are those products suitable for use on a mountain bike? There seem to be a few reviews saying the mounting plates break and the page says it's not recommended for motorbike use due to the vibrations.

If I'm on a mountain bike going down a bumpy hill I could be looking at speed and vibration. Admittedly we're talking 30mph rather than the 60+ I might be doing on a motorbike, but the vibration can still be pretty severe.

I don't want to buy a $500 Montana and then find it in pieces on the road because it fell off.

The ubolt mounts work fine on a mountain bike or motor bike. I have two on mine for my rides. One for the GPS other for a Camera.

The U-Bolt mount is extremely durable and solid, used by many motorcyclists (including myself) and ATVers, including rough off-road riding. I doubt it can break. I personally wouldn't trust the plastic mount, unless I had a road/commuter bicycle.
