So... the new model that was to be for the iPad 2 (RAM-HOL-AP11) seems to have disappeared from the lineup. It was being offered as a presale when I checked this site earlier in the week. Looking at other sites, it appears that Ram is just offering the iPad 1 mount (RAM-HOL-AP8U) plus two rubber bumpers to take up the space behind the new iPad. Is that correct?

Hello,

The iPad 2 Cradle is still being produced we just don't have an expected date for it. The iPad holder with rubber bumpers is a solution for your mount that will work until we have notice of the other mount.

Hope his helps!

I just heard from the president of RAM, no less, who says that they found that the original iPad 1 mount, the AP8, works fine with the iPad 2 so there will be no AP11.

Hello mvgossman,

There is a need for a proper mount if you don't want it to rattle in the holder. You can use some pads to make it thick enough but it will move side to side because there is about a half centimeter difference. In the mean time if you have the older holder or would rather not wait you can make the current i-Pad mount work.
Cheers

Thanks for answering some curiosities. I thought there should be some very minor fit changes which likely could be self-accomodated. Some light foam or rubber, and glue. All readily available.
