I've purchased the iPhone 5 holder, but I'm nervous about using it. The clamp is very tight at the top and I'm concerned that pushing the phone past it as it's mounted could scratch the anodized metal at the top. I've successfully used the iPhone 4S mount for at least six months but the construction of that phone is a bit different. Has the mount been tested by inserting an iPhone 5 20 or 30 times to make sure that it is not scratched?

While using this mount it is possible you can scratch the phone depending on the care used to place it in. When inserting it into the mount, we have not experienced any scratching but we have not taken it in and out multiple times in an effort to purposefully scratch the phone. We ourselves don't want to risk scratching our own devices.

Just make sure you take care each and everytime you take it in and out, and you shouldn't have a problem using it.

Note however, that RAM's warranty does not cover damage to devices while using their products, unfortunately. This is why we recommend use extra caution whenever using their mounts.
