I just purchased the seat-mate, c/w tough tray and double ball joining arm.
I have not received it yet, in about 3 days. The only thing I'm not sure of as yet, is how olose to me can I get the laptop? Is it as uncomfortable touse as I read on a review? Is there a compatable pole and double swing arm attachment availible? I will let you know about the comfort, once I've had a chance to use it.

The laptop tray can be situated to sit about 4-5 inches off center of the Seat-Mate mounting location which is normally at the center of the passenger seat.
Additional RAM components can be purchased separately to extend the reach of the arm but this will also create some instability with the Seat-Mate depending on the amount of extension.

Well now I have been using this unit for about 6-7 weeks, and it is a little uncomfortable, for trying to use for two handed typing, as it sits a little to far from the drivers seat. It would be bettre if it extended at least 5" further. As it is for my use it's not to bad, as I use Dragon Naturally Speaking, rather than typing. Occasionally I have to make a correction and can do it just fine with one hand. The position is OK for the way I use it, though it is probably to far for others that want to, two hand tpye on the laptop. Also, I wish the unit was came with the flush keepers, rather than having to buy them separately, as now I have the curved keepers, that I can just throw away. Seems like a waste. But we must be able to close the laptop, or risk being tagged for distracted driving. Also, I wish that the screan holder would work on both sides of the screenand not just the right side. As it is I don't use it, as it causes the right side rear keeper to have to be moved forward which then blocks the DVD ROM drive from opening. If the end that holds the screen would swivel, on the arm then it could be used on either side. Just a few suggestions for your R+D department.

Richard.
