Hello,
Can this hub charge devices such as phones without having a computer hooked up to the hub? I am planning on using it as a way to charge my other devices and do not have a computer installed in the car.

Yes, this hub would be connected to your vehicle battery. The devices would receive a charge through the hub even if there isn't a computer attached.

FYI for anyone reading this, yes that is the main point of this thing, IMHO. Connectivity to a PC being secondary but which also works provided youve attached the proper connector (included).

I own one and find it very useful for powering multiple devices. I found that standard USB hubs dont work well in a vehicle. This device from RAM is rugged to the point that an average consumer user (and most utility users) wont have any issues with it.

Thank you GPS City for posting these FAQs as there is NOTHING on RAMs site (as usual) to provide a clue for any potential customer on how this product functions. RAM really hurts themselves with their lack of info on many of their products, IMHO.
