I want to know if the Lifetime nuMaps can be used for my GPS. Also exactly how is it done? Do I just hook my Garmin up to my PC w/usb & it directs me on how? As I have never done an upgrade & every time I turn it on, it tells me it has been over a year since I have updated. Almost $50 a year was ridiculous to do on a yearly basis...I prefer to do the Lifetime...

Thank you

The lifetime map update can be used with the nuvi 660 but it is not recommended because your unit has passed its expected life based on the internal battery. If your unit is working fine and you feel that it will last sometime then the update will be a good purchase. It is a special code we sell you that you register with Garmin and then download an update every three months. Instructions are included and there are many videos online to assist you in the process

If your unit is only two years old it may not be a nuvi 660. You may have the zumo 660.

No it's a nuvi 660, as I am looking right at the box it came in. It will be 3 years old in September.
