Is it worth updating a Garmin Nuvi 780?

Is it worth getting a lifetime map update service for my 780 or get a more current Garmin like the 1450 or 1490 LMT models?

It is worth updating your unit unless you go into the nuvi 3490 , 2595 and 3590 series. The nuvi 14XX series would be a downgrade compared to a nuvi 780. The nuvi 780 was a great unit that in some cases is better than most newer units like the nuvi 1450. The only concern you should have with the 780 is the battery is near is end of life so you may need to replace that soon
