I have a Garmin Nuvi 550 that I believe has the NT city navigator but your compatibility list does not show the Nuvi 500 series as one of the listed units that this update will work on? I would like to purchase one of these but I need to know if it will work with my unit?

Hello Bill,

The Garmin 2011 map update will work with your Nuvi 500 GPS unit. It is compatible with all current Nuvi models. However we recommend the nuMaps Lifetime map update instead. It becomes cheaper if you want to update your unit often or just more than once. It is also more up to date than the DVD's in some cases because it is a download service.
