I have a 160C unit and I want to add the speed measurement. Do I need to buy a complete new transducer or just a speed wheel? Please advise pricing and correct part numbers.

Thanks,
B. Myles

Hello B Myles,

The best way to add speed to your Fish Finder 160C is to buy the combination speed/depth transducer. It will contain all sensors in one head unit. Then you don't have to mount two different sensors. The price is very close too.

You can add the speed sensor inline with the current transducer. Page 6 (PDF Page 14 of 50) of the manual contains the diagram describing the setup. Here is the digital form of the manual.

Please feel free to share you boating adventures on our Gallery page. I am sure others would like to learn more about your adventures with the device. Check it out. Have fun!
