Yes, this unit is intended to be powered off of 12V

It will come with a 12V power cable for wiring to your boats electrical system.

can i get a cable with a cigarette lighter hook up?

No they do not have one with a cigarette light adapter on it but you can ad one to the bare wire power cable when you get it
