It is a known problem with the older GPS models. The reason it truncates is it can only store about 20 tracks at 10,000 points. That means it takes your track and trims it down to 500 points per track. This is very annoying.

There are two ways around it. One is to split your tracks up into 500 point segments and no more than 20 tracks. You may also want to truncate your track by removing points in it. I would recommend removing multiple points in a straight line.

The Second way is to make your track into a map layer and add it to the Garmin card. This can be done in a few ways. There are a few programs to use, one called Mapwel and the other is CGPSMapper. Mapwel is easy to use but costs a bit of money. Cgpsmapper takes time to learn and a few different utilities but you can create basic maps for free.

**Track Hint**
When recording a track be sure to set your track settings to one that will drop few points but get you the data you need. For example you can change the 'distance' between track points, so that you go X meters before a track point is dropped. You can also use 'Automatic'. I don't recommend setting the track settings to 'Time' because if you are in one spot for a long time the GPS will drop multiple useless points in one general location.
