I would like to upgrade from the Lowrance H2OC to a 5 inch screen model.
What would be my best choice that I would still be able to use my Topo
SD cards that I now have full of trails.

Hello Deb,

You can not get a handheld in a 5 inch screen. Vehicle Navigators are not for out door use. The Topo maps you use on the Lowrance iFinder H2OC will not be compatible with newer Lowrance or Garmin units.

What is you main use and other uses? We can suggest units based on that information.

Would the Lowrance HDS Baja work with the Topo maps that are used
in the Lowrance H2OC handheld GPS.

Hello Deb,

you are right, that unit should work with the older Topo's. What is you main use to make sure this unit is suitable.

Cheers

It will be used mostly for off road and snowmobile use. I have a lot of trails on the H2OC that I would like to be able to used on a newer GPS, but with a larger screen. I was considering the HDS-5 Baja, but I would welcome other suggestions that would accept the info. used on the H2OC.

Thanks

Hello Deb,

The data on the unit can be transferred to other devices via a PC and software like GPSBabel. We highly recommend the Garmin units but they dont have a large screen like the Baja. The Garmin I would recommend is the Oregon Series. You can use custom maps, Garmin maps and Satellite mapping with the unit.

cheers
