Will this unit accept external antenna?

Will this unit accept external antenna , will be mounting unit in electronic box so internal antenna will not receive satellites. Which gps/sounder will & which antenna do I need if this one doesn't . Thanks

Hello Joe,

The external antenna you will need is the Garmin GA30. The transducer that comes with the package is the 01-10272-00.

How many waypoints can the 421s store & be recalled? The specs say 3, but I'm hoping thats a typo error, because there other say 3000! Thanks for your help Jordan!

Sorry, another question is this ready to use out of box for the gulf of Mexico & surrounding coastal area or do I need a blue chart chip?

The 421s units can do 3000. That was a typo in our system.

It also says no external antenna jack under the auto section , that does not mean for marine application does it?

Jordan, looking @ the 441s & it looks like for coastal Ms. it maybe more of what I need than the 421s. It does except the ga30 antenna & is loaded with coastal maps , if i read that right. Can not find much review on it! Is this a new or older unit?

Hello Joe,

The 421S is a more popular unit but the 441S will do the same with the advantage of preloaded mapping for the USA. I used one on my boat in Canada and it worked great. I just had to add charts by memory card for the areas I was boating.
