My old Garmin GPS Map Sounder 168 developed a dark dark patch on the screen with unit turned on or off. Is it possible to repair? Will my old transducer work with a new Garmin 441S. Is the pin out the same? My old transducer only operates on one frequency, any issue using it with the 441S?

Hello Randy,

You can get better use out of the transducer that comes with the 441S dual package. I don't recommend using your older transducer with a newer GPS unit. What is the part number of the transducer you are using?

Garmin handles the repairs in your area. They would be the ones to contact for repairs. 1-800-800-1020

Thanks for the reply. The old transducer I have is P/N 010-10118-00. I believe its a 200kHz 20deg transom mount xducer. I fish a 17' Whaler in shallow rivers and coastal buoy lines out to 70'. Is the s/w of the 441S incompatable with this transducer or do you know if the pin out cannot be supported.

Based on the part number the 441S will be compatible with your 010-10118-00 transducer. I suggest using the dual transducer that comes with the package and use your current one as a backup
