I'm trying to decide on a Garmin 620 or 640. We have two boats and motor on Lake Okanagan and some of the other BC inland lakes. I realize I need to purchase the BC lake maps , but which of the two would be the better option for marine use not really on the ocean. Having the road maps on the 640 is nice, but is it worth the extra $150 or so?

Hello AJ,

The better one for you would be the GPSmap 620 because it does not come preloaded with maps. You will be adding your own mapping. You also get coastal USA maps in the 640 just incase you plan on boating on the coast down there.
