Hello Stefane,

Dual Frequency contains a 50 and a 200khz pulse. Because of the two frequencies it can do deeper water. The dual beam allows you to have two different cone widths. This is great if you need better resolution of the targets below you.

The GPS will do speed over ground. The transducer does not have a speed paddle wheel on it for water speed. It does have temperature.

Cheers
Jordan

Ref your GPSMAP740s: Will transducers 010-10272-00 and
010-10249-00 both work with the 740s? If so, what would be
the differance in performance? Thank you.

Hello RT,

The difference is the 010-10272-00 is Operating frequency of 200 and 50 kHz. Beamwidth of 15 degrees at 200 kHz, 45 degrees at 50 kHz. 010-10249-00 Operating frequency of 200kHz. Dual beam width.

Dual frequency/dual beam is recommended (101-10272-00). The dual frequency can do deeper water and has better noise rejection. 200Khz = Better sounding resolution. 50khz = greater depth but less accurate res.
