what kind of mapping can you get for canada does the finder show any kind of lake shape as it is now or is it a blank screen with a trail on it that you follow after marking a way point

Hello lr,

It will have detailed data for the USA. Canadian data can be added to the unit via the SD card slot. Unfortunately at this time your province of Manitoba is not covered. Lake of the woods that is shared with Ontario and the USA is.
Because of no coverage in Manitoba, I would recommend a Garmin sounder that will allow you to load Topo maps but will lack the DSI sounding. The sounding in Garmin is good but not as high detailed as the DSI from lowrance.
