I just recently bought and had installed an echo 300c. The unit seems to be reading the depth incorrectly (always reading in the 30' range). I've read the manual and there doesn't seem to be any basic set up/calibration for a brand new unit. How do I get this new unit to read depth accurately? The depths I'm operating in range from approx. 0' to 100' in frech water.

Thanks
Adam

There is no Calibration for depth sensors. How do you have the transducer mounted?

Check to see if its in the "DEMO" mode. Mine did that. All I did was remove the power cord, plug it back in, and turn it on again, and it was back to "normal". I'm not sure what causes this, but I've seen other fish finders default to "demo" mode before too, driving my family crazy, thinking there are 8-9 fish just hanging out under the boat when it was just in "demo" mode... and there was no fish.
