Reply #6: Jan 4, 2012, 1:07pm Blue Charts is for Coastal areas and Inland lakes will cover lakes that are not coastal. Great Lakes are in Bluecharts.

Or should I get the Inland Lakes sd card for the USA. I am looking for advice. I fish both inland lakes & the Great Lakes. Thanks
Reply #8: Jan 4, 2012, 2:06pm Thank you for the extra data. If you require detailed charts for Navigation then you will need Bluecharts for the Great lakes. I would not recommend Visions unless you will have a unit and will need the 3d underwater view. The recommend card if you can not take advantage of Vision charts is the HXCA039R bluechart card.
If all you do is fishing, the inland lakes map car/DVD is all you need. It has data for the Great lakes but not as much navigational aids. It geared more towards fishing.

Reply #10: Jan 5, 2012, 7:26am HXCA039 card will have fishing and navigation aids where inland lake has limited Navigation aids for the great lakes.
You will need to buy a unit that supports Vision technology. One of the starting models would be the GPSMap 421S.
