Hi Jordan,
I have a Garmin GPSMAP3206 that come with a boat that I just bought.
It's no cards in it so just the base map are available. I have no details in my area.
Is the HCA016R was updated since 2009 ?
Do I need a special update of my 3206 ? My software Version is 3,80. I think it's the last one.

Hello Yves,
They may be an older mapset. We no longer program these cards in house like we do with the SD cards. With the SD cards we can ensure that you will get the latest version. We can bring the older Garmin cards in on a one by one basis as long as Garmin still has some instock. The stock is limited. I highly suggest the newer units that use SD card mapping so you can get the latest maps available in the future. Your boat must be nice coming with a nice unit like that.

Are you telling me that Garmin don't produce them anymore ?
Can you transfer the new maps from a SD card to a Garmin Card ?
I really don't want to change my 3206 yet so my options are pretty limited.
I'll still use my iPhone and the Navionics maps. They are very very good for my region.
And yes my boat is really nice ! It's a Robalo R200 with a Honda 200 hp. It's a rally nice fishing boat for offshore fishing.

You can not transfer data from one card to another. They are locked to the original card. The unit you have is older but is still a good unit and comparable to newer units. It is best to order the HCA016R card soon for we do not know for how much longer we can get them. Have fun boating!
