Trying to figure out best bang for the buck for weekend angler. Such as difference in HDS Gen-1 vs Gen-2? Gen-2 is faster, but how much/how significant? Is it better to spend money on larger screen Gen-1 model (7 or 8"), or smaller screen Gen-2 model (5"). Structure map overlay on Gen-2 seems like it would be nice feature.

Same analysis for LSS-1 vs LSS-2: I know LSS-2 scans little wider. How much better is definition on LSS-2? Significantly better?

As casual weekend angler, better investment be HDS Gen-2 5" and LSS-2, or Gen-1 7" and LSS-1 ??

Either would be fine. The LSS-2 replaces the LSS-1. I would go with the current product the LSS-2 for future support.

We have not tested the Gen 2 at this time so we can not comment on speed differences.
