I have the IPad 2 (WiFi only) with Navionics downloaded on it. I tried to use a USB GPS, but the program would not recognize it. Will the Navionics program recognize the Dual XGPS. I know the Navionics program works well with the 3G IPad.

How about the new Garmin Glo? Will it also overlay position data onto the Navionics IPAD Marine App? And on a related question, what does the overlaid position look like on the app? Is it merely a position dot,or a boat icon, triangle,ect.... I ask this as I know some aviation apps superimpose a "plane" icon for the position overly when using the dual XGPS. That's possibly a navigation software setting though....not sure. Thanks.

Yes the GLO will work. The GLO will have better position accuracy and will work better in tough to track areas.

The GLO will give position data to the Navionics program so it can plot your position on the map. I am unsure what icon they use. I would assume a boat.

That was fast. Thanks.

By the way, I did find out that the pilot app for IPAD (Foreflight) allows the position icon character to be selected within the program. Not so with Navionics...yet. We'll see how it looks. Thanks again.
