Hi there
im going to paris for the summer and want to use my iphone 4s as a gps .i want to use the google maps app ,if i put my phone on airplne mode and use no wifi will the xgps150a work as a gps on my phone?

No it will not work in Airplane mode because all wireless is turned off when you switch to that mode. Most flights also do not allow GPS.

so what do i do to use my iphone with the xgps as a gps unit ?

If you have to put the phone in plane mode you will not be able to use the XGPS. If the flight allows GPS you may want to look at a standalone GPS unit like a Etrex 30 handheld.

jesse i want to use my i phone in Paris as a gps without the cell carrier.can i do this with the xgps?i will not use it on the plane .im not allowed,

yes you can as long as you buy mapping for your phone that does not require an internet connection. The maps need to download onto the phone.

I thought you meant you want to use it on a plane in airplane mode. I did not think that you may want to put in airplane mode to reduce roaming charges. You should be able to disable the cellular services and still have wifi and bluetooth to talk to the xGPS. If you have a SIM card in the phone try taking that out while on your trip. Then put it back in if you need to make a call
