Hi Jordan, you probably answered this question but asking to be sure before I order one of these units from GPS City. By way of example let's assume I am in my truck parked on some bush road somewhere with my Wifi only iPad 3. I sync this little gizmo up to my iPad and it will load a google earth map and show me my present location with a pin on the map? No need for a wireless service provider connection i.e. Telus. This would be super handy if it works this way.

Thx sir

As long as you have an internet connection via your wifi connection you will be able to get maps. There are mapping programs that will buffer or download the maps on the iPad for when you are out of cell and wifi service. I am not a iPad user so I don't have any recommendations.

It does work the way you mentioned. Cheers
