Hi,
Writing from Australia, I have a Neptune 100 VHF radio in my boat. It has a PS2 connector for a GR 213 GPS receiver. I noticed on the Net that you can buy the Holux unit with a PS2 connector. If I buy one is there any other equipment needed to receive GPS co ordinates?ie. just the radio & the receiver will show the co ordinates on the radio? Does the GR 213 need charging? If so how do you do this?
It also came with a cable that has a PS2 connector one one end and 2 bare wires (1 green, 1yellow) on the other end.

According to the Neptune 100 manual the GR213 will plug into the radio with no extra wiring. The GR213 should take power from the radio.

The other cable you have may be for different GPS units if it plugs into the GPS port on the radio. I would assume yellow is for receiving GPS data and the Green will be the common ground. Power for the GPS in this setup would be external unlike the GR213.
