As far as I know the BU353 will not be compatible with an iPad. For iPad software it is best to check the app store and read the reviews. I do not recommend using a tablet for general navigation

Thanks for this post. I think some of the tablets have a gps in them but you have to seek it out. Am talking Android here, as I have no idea about the Ipad's but I suspect Jordan would have said not needed if they had one built in. Jordan can you recommend any Android makers for tablets that tend to have the gps built in ?

I have a Motorola XOOM that I am happy with. The Xoom has GPS , accelerometer and digital compass which makes it good for augmented reality and navigation apps.

I would suggest only looking at droids made to Google standards so you get the full experience of Android. I would stay away from off-brand names that tend to have cheaper tablets/phones for they don't function as well. I have not used the Samsung tablets but I hear they are good. I have purchased an ACER Iconia 100 for a family member at it works great too and has GPS. I suggest reading the reviews from people who have purchased the various devices for an honest opinion.
