I have recently updated my Mapsource and Garmin 660 for the 2012.2 version and I notice that my zumo660 still has an old 2010 version showing when I look at the Map info. I have removed the "check" mark beside this map but on 2 ocassions now my 660 has asked me to update the map as it is over 1 year old.
How do I remove this map from my 660?
Thanks for any assistance.
John

When you run Garmin lifetime map updater you need to select send to device also. It will erase the old maps in the unit when the new ones are sent over. If you are having difficulties with the software please call the technical support phone number. 1-800-800-1020 while you are sitting at the computer with the Garmin 660.

I did use the lifetime updater to do the install and I instructed it to update both the unit and computer. It did leave the 2010 version on the GPS however. I will try contacting the toll free number when I get a chance. Unfortunatly I work later hours and it seems the technical support is not available when I am !!
Thanks for the advise Jordan

After a year of updating the Garmin Maps to the newest 2013.20 AND with no success in the system automatically getting rid of the previous 2010 map version.... I broke down and called Garmin Support. After a short 10 minute wait on the phone, the Technician (Eric) helped me through cleaning out old files and updating the software on the GPS - He even fixed a sound problem as one of the files was corrupt.
Seems like everything is working great again!
