Mass storage mode & how to load maps?

I recently purchased a Zumo 220 from GPS City with US maps (which I do not need) and it arrived two days ago. Two questions WHen I attach the Zumo by USB cable to my computer to charge I get a charging icon which continues even after the battery is charged. The zumo will not move out of this mode while the mini USB plug is inserted. Even when connected to an external charging source (the bike) or wall charger - the zumo remains in the charging mode and I cannot access the main menu or maps. I have installed another map into the garmin folder of the Zumo and by using windows explorer can see the file in the correct place.If I navigate thru the zumo - when on battery alone (cannot use zumo when usb cable attached as in question 1) and go to Tools>Settings>Maps>Map Info I can only see the US Maps which came with the machine. Yet nowhere using Windows Explorer and looking thru the various folders of the Zumo can I even find the US Maps I am confused Please supply information Dean WhitePort NeillSouth Australia

Using the USB cable will put the unit into mass storage (data transfer) mode. Using the Garmin AC DC to Vehicle Power Adapter Cable along with the vehicle power cable will work for using the unit while charging away from the vehicle.
Some 3rd party map sets may not be compatible with the Zumo.
Additional map sets should be installed to a sd card to prevent overwriting the original map set.
