I like to do long distance touring of twisty back roads with my sport touring motorcycle. I want to be able to be able to plan very detailed back road routes on computer software like Google Maps and load it into the GPS and have the GPS give me turn by turn directions through my blue tooth helmet intercom of my route. Can I do this with the Garmin Zumo 220?

The Zumo 220 bluetooth does have the ability to connect to headsets.
The Zumo 550, 660, and 665 have the bluetooth headset feature as well as cell phone connectivity.
Planning routes on any of them is easier done using Garmin's BaseCamp Map management software which is a free download from Garmin.
Google Maps is useful for transferring waypoints but the actual routing should be done either on the GPS or with BaseCamp for the best results.

Thanks Tom but now I am confused. So.. What does this note refer to in the specs? "Note: Bluetooth is ONLY for sending data to helmet wirelessly, it is NOT for hands-free calling"

Can I download "BaseCamp" to try it out before purchasing a Garmin GPS. I am totally new to GPS and have no desire for a GPS to tell me how to get wherever. I want it to give me turn by turn directions for the exact roads I have pre-selected. Thanks again.

Sorry for the confusion, the above answer has been edited.
The Zumo 220 will connect via bluetooth to a headset but not to a cell phone for hands-free calling.

BaseCamp can be downloaded but will not be of any use without the Garmin maps.
The Garmin maps would have to be preloaded onto a Garmin GPS connected to the computer or the maps would have to be installed to the computer to be able to use them.

Thanks again Tom. Next question - From what I see elsewhere on your web site I can buy this and if I can't make it do what I want I can return it in 30 days. Is this correct?
