Where is the memory for the MP3 player stored, internal or SD card? If SD card, then if I have a set of Snowmobile trail maps loaded on a SD card already loaded in the unit, the MP3 can't work because the SD card spot is already taken by the snowmobile trail map right?

The music can go to internal or external memory. you can have many types of data on the memory card. The Garmin device will only read what it understands. I would not recommend a zumo for use on a snowmobile. It is better suited for paved roads. You may want to look at a handheld GPS like a Montana or GPSMap 62S for more functionality and reliability.

The Montana doesn't have an onboard MP3 player. What will the Montana do that the Zumo can't? Both are water resistant and each will only read the maps I put into them, right? I am not interested in topo capability. Both have an internal compass. Plus I wanted the ability to take the unit off the snowmobile and put it on my quad for ORV trails in the summer and then put it in my truck for over the road use. I LOVE the idea of having an MP3 player onboard while riding with bluetooth earbuds. Now that you know exactly what I plan on using this unit for, do you have any other suggestions?

The Montana will function better as an off road GPS than the Zumo. The Zumo will run topo mapping but does not display the mapping very well.
For use on a snowmobile and a quad, the topo mapping would be very useful as street mapping is not very useful for off road use.
The Montana would be the best recommendation for both on and off road use.
