Regarding power connection. Does this unit come with wiring that you can connect DIRECTLY to the motorcycle battery (with the circular attachments which are placed under the lead screws?)

I would like to direct connect the USB / power cable to the battery, then run wiring up to the back of the unit.

Also, does it come with a mounting bracket which will snap onto the one inch ball I have mounted on the center of the triple clamp area?

All parts are included to mount it on the bike and in the car. The contents are listed with links on the product description (overview) page. The motorcycle mount comes with a hardwire kit.

You can not power the unit via USB on the bike. In the car you can wire the USB power/traffic cable to the battery but you can not cut the end off because there is special electronics in the cable for traffic and to convert the 10-30VDC down to 5V the unit needs. If you use the USB cable on the bike the unit will not sense it is on a motorbike properly.
