Inland Lakes Maps Waypointable?

The Zimo 660 accepts both Inland Lakes on a micro card and the entire USA on a DVD. Can you use these maps for navigation setting up waypoints or are they just for information purposes to look at? I race sailboats and want to be able to set up various courses on the river with waypoints/routes/favorites, etc. Do you need to insert the card each time you want to be on the water? Is the DVD resident on the internal memory once loaded? I can't find any videos pertaining to the use of waterways maps or topo maps. Thanks.

Hi Rick,

If you want to load waypoints for a race onto the unit, I would recommend purchasing the DVD. The DVD will allow you to do this on your computer. You will transfer the waypoints straight to the unit and you can either load the maps onto the unit or onto a blank memory card. This is up to you, but there may not be enough memory on the Zumo to load the maps.

However, I would still recommend purchasing the DVD as you can do what you are looking for on the computer.

Thank you!
