I bought this device because of all the hoopla about planning trips on the computer and then downloading the route to the unit. For the life of me I can't figure out how to do this!!

Hi Joe,

Please install the DVD that comes with this unit onto your computer. You will then need to unlock the maps on http://my.garmin.com. Please make sure you have the Zumo 550 registered.

Once you have the DVD installed you will be able to make a route on the map you see of North America. You can then plug in the Zumo 550 and transfer the route using MapSource.

If you have further questions regarding this, Garmin is best able to assist with this. You might want to give them a call at 1-800-800-1020. Their software support team will be able to walk you through a solution to get this done.

Thank you!

Jordan
