In my research I found this statement on GPSCITY site
18 Topographic Map Compatible: Yes (limited)

Explain (limited) if you would be so kind.

Hello,

You may not see all features on the map. It varies from unit to unit. We have not noticed any real big differences. The vehicle navigation units are not made for Topo maps so its more of a disclaimer just in case.

With this in mind, what is a good unit for a Snowmobile with the usual features of an outdoors GPS ,Topo MAPS, for Newfoundland. A compass feature. waypoints, tracks, backtracks, and a large screen about 5 ".

Thanks

Hello,

A unit like this would not perform the listed functions, what you are looking for is handheld something like a 60CSX would be a better fit. But any Garmin handheld would suffice.

Hope this helps!

I have just purchased a PN60W from GPSCITY and would like to have a unit to be able to mount on a snowmobile with similar features.
On other feature that is real important is a larger screen, around 5 inches.
This is important when traveling over rough terrain and being able to see more of the map to know where one is at, in bad weather and such.
Do you have any suggestions please.

Hello Rockminder,

At this time there is not a unit with similar features and a 5" screen. When you go into the larger screen units you lose a lot of features. I recommend sticking with the Delorme PN-60W. The zumo660 series will work but will lack features.

Cheers
