Having difficulties in Navigating the touch screen of my Zumo 550. Some actions require frequent touch before action takes place. Some cases no action at when touch requested. Other days the Zumo 550 works fine with out issues. Good the touch screen part need to be replaced? Or could the original 4 year old battery have an impact. I do frequently charge for 24 hours + the Zumo 550 internal battery with the power adapter that one plugs in an electrical outlet to charge.

Hello AVR,

I would suggest that you try a couple things. the first being a firmware update. Just download Garmin webupdater from Garmin.com run the software while you unit is plugged into the PC and it will guide you step by step to update the firmware (OS).

Next is to calibrate the screen. You will need to turn the unit off then turn it on but hold the power button in for a minute. I hope that works for you.

I don't think it is your battery. If the above does not work you may want to give Garmin a try at 1-800-800-1020

Hello Bill,

Sounds like your unit needs repair/replacement. Please Contact Garmin at 1-800-800-1020 for troubleshooting assistance. It may be cheaper to buy a replacement unit.

Cheers
