I purchased a nuvi3490 from gpscity. It has a round suction type mount which is OK for the windshield but too far away for proper viewing. A dash mount disk might be the answer. I have 3 vehicles this could be installed in. What's my best bet permanent or temporary disks? It can be -30 deg.C here in the winter and +30 deg.C in the summer. With vehicles windows closed, inside temperature could likely double or triple. How does this affect the dash mounts? I know you guys can make a recommendation as well as include some installation instructions. Thank you.

Here is what I use in the Calgary area. They work fine. however the suction cup may come off when the temperature swings extremely. You apply the disk to your dash then suction cup your GPS to it. If the suction cup comes off just reapply the suction cup to the dash disk and all is good.

Another option would be a friction mount.

The last option would be the Garmin dash mount. You will need to buy one for each vehicle.

One thing I failed to mention. I have a bean-bag mount that is used for my Garmin GPS 60CS that I use for off-roading. This unit comes with a locking mount that is removable. Is an adaptor avialable to allow use of this bean-bag for the nuvi3490? It would have to fit and be able to lock into the mount.

Yes, you can use the Garmin bean bag mount - 010-10908-02 - with the Garmin Nuvi 3490LMT. You will need the cradle that came with the GPS, as well as http://www.gpscity.com/garmin-nuvi-mount-adapter.html.

Would this mount work better if glued to the windshield, using windshield mounting glue?
